Hayrides: Fall Into A Wagon And Enjoy The Ride

Fall: Hayrides are a perfect way to spend some time enjoying the fall. There are lots of apple orchard farms that offer visitors a hayride through the orchard as an extra treat. Recently, we went apple picking at Thompson’s Farm in New Gloucester. The orchard was a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed picking the red ripen apples that were dangling from the apple laden branches. After spending some time in the orchard we climbed aboard their wagon and enjoyed a scenic ride around the farm. The kids really loved patting the horses after our ride was complete. Another place to check out is Brackett’s Orchard in Limington. They have pick your own apples, pumpkins and hayrides. The hayrides are free and bring you through the orchard to enjoy all the fall scenery and foliage. Limington is a beautiful part of Maine especially during the fall when the mountains in the distant are full of vibrant fall colors. Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport offers hayrides for the public every Saturday during the month of October. Visitors also leave with a complimentary pumpkin pie and an apple for the ride back.
