The Theater At Monmouth: Maine’s Shakespearian Theater
Winter,Spring,Summer & Fall: The Theater in Monmouth was established in 1970 in this small central Maine town. The Theater was given the title Shakespearian Theater in Maine by the Maine legislature five years later. Visitors to this community theater will see why when they attend one of their productions. The professional caliber of these nationally recognized plays all housed in a historically recognized building, Cumston Hall. Their 2008 schedule will mark their 39th season of bringing some of the finest productions to the stages of this theater in Maine. The theater’s season opens in January with the Shakespearian classic, Macbeth. The theater is easy to find located right in the heart of Monmouth on Main Street.
International Film Festival: Waterville
Summer: The Maine International Film Festival (MIFF) was founded in 1998. The festival showcases over 100 films during its ten day run. You will have the opportunity to rub elbows with directors, producers, writers and musicians. There are panel discussions and question and answer sessions, giving the audience an inside look into the art of film making. There are a number of parties and receptions that are open to the public. Come enjoy the outstanding beauty of the Waterville region.
