The Wadsworth-Longfellow House: A Peak At 19th Century Christmas

Winter: If you have never done a tour of the Wadsworth-Longfellow House in Portland than now is the time. Come in during the month of December and enjoy the holiday season as this family celebrated what Christmas was like in the mid-19th century. The house is beautifully decorated to reflect an authentic 19th-century Victorian Christmas. As part of the celebration, the Historical Society offers a special Family Christmas Tour day where visitors can create a period-style ornament, refeshments and Christmas carols at an old-fashioned tree-trimming party. Following the tour, guests are are then welcome to enjoy the annual Holiday Book and Gift Fair.
