Summer, Spring, Fall: Are you intrested in going on a treasure hunt? If so, there is usually one available in any neighboorhood, rural road or subdivision in Maine on any Saturday morning. It’s called a tag sale, lawn sale, cleaning out the barn sale, whatever it’s labeled though, you never know what treasures you can uncover. Before you begin however, there is one secret you should know, “the early bird gets the worm”. Getting there early is the key to finding the good stuff. Most sales don’t start much before 8 am but, the veterans know that “drive by’s” save time on finding the best stuff and marking the map on where you want to return.Depending on your personality you may want to grab a local paper the day before and scout out the classified section for upcoming sales. More than likely, just taking a drive down the road you will find a multitude of neon poster boards, spray painted pieces of card board or store bought signage alerting perspective buyers to their sales. And the treasures, well it all depends on what you are looking for, old dishes, furniture, books, clothing, baby toys and the list goes on. So why not try it, it’s a fun way to spend a morning and you never know what you may uncover!
