Maine Things To Do Cape Neddick Lighthouse: The Lighting Of The Nubble
Posted by mainetodo on Sunday, November 18 @ 17:21:51 PST

Fall: Cape Neddick Lighthouse, Maine is also called Nubble Light because it sits on a barren rocky island (the Nubble) just off shore in York, Maine. The annual Christmas Lighting of Nubble Light, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, draws a large crowd of anxious spectators annually. Sohier Park is usually packed with hundreds of visitors waiting for the lighting of the Nubble. Spectators can enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, live music and more as you wait for the "big count down" to turn on the Christmas lights on the Cape Neddick Lighthouse and surrounding buildings

during this holiday event. If you prefer to watch the lighting of The Nubble by sea, the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company offers a “Lighting of the Nubble Cruise.” Cape Neddick Light is one of the most-photographed Maine Lighthouses in the Southern part of Maine. So whichever way you choose to watch the lighting of "The Nubble" just don’t miss out on this holiday event.
