Maine Things To Do Kennebunk's Christmas: Christmas Prelude Worth The Trip
Posted by mainetodo on Sunday, November 18 @ 17:17:41 PST

Fall: Christmas Prelude in Kennebunk is full of wonder and has been celebrated in this town for 26 years. What started as a way for the merchants to thank their patrons has turned into a much larger community event. This much anticipated annual event is full of Christmas spirit and cheer. Holiday shopping, tree lightings, chowder luncheons and the arrival of Santa are just a few reasons you should go check out this fun filled event. Make sure you check out the live Nativity following the tree lighting which includes live animals even! There is live music, a bonfire and hot chocolate…with so much more you really have to just go and see for yourself. The whole town seems to

come out and celebrate. Just up the road from Kennebunkport, Cape Porpoise has a Lobster Trap Christmas tree lighting in the center of town, which of course is appropriate for this small harbor front lobstering community. For those who love craft fairs, this celebration includes at least five separate ones all ready for eager holiday shoppers brimming with great gifts for your whole shopping list. So make sure you put Kennebunk on your list of places to go to kick off and get you into the holiday spirit.
