Posted by mainetodo on Monday, September 10 @ 17:39:26 PDT

Fall: The MDI Garlic Festival has been going strong for 10 years. The celebration of one of culinaries most loved seasonings, garlic takes place at Smugglers Den Campground on Mount Desert Island. The festival has grown into a gathering of numerous local restaurants, musicians, brewers and garlic growers. This festival draws more than 800 people to the event. Most importantly, the festival

has raised thousands of dollars for local non-profit organizations. In addition to great food and entertainment there is also a wine tasting event and a dog biscuit challenge. This festival was a result of friends gathering together to celebrate the harvest of thier garlic crops and now that celebration has become a community wide event that has been growing since 1997.
