Posted by mainetodo on Friday, August 24 @ 07:03:48 PDT

Fall: A fun family activity to try in the fall is going to one of the area's local farms and picking out your own pumpkins. Many of these farms cater to the Halloween holiday and offer haunted hayrides as well as corn mazes. All of these activities are fun for the kids as well as the adults too. There are several farms in the central Maine area that offer fall activities such as Rocky Ridge Orchards which has a great selection of pumpkins a really great swing for the kids in their barns and wagon rides through the orchard. Another

spot to check out is Pumpkin Land at Chipman Farm in Poland Springs. Come late September and into October this farm is turned into a pumpkin paradise offering a kids slide into hay bales, a bouncy house, a blow-up haunted house, hay rides into the pumpkin patch as well as a haunted hayride. The farm offers visitors a free pumpkin with the admission price and the kids love it! So take some time this fall and discover Maine's farms and go pick yourself up a pumpkin.
