Posted by mainetodo on Sunday, July 29 @ 18:55:31 PDT

Summer,Spring,Fall: Peaks Island is just a 15 minute ferry ride from Portland and is definitely Casco Bay's most popular island. The ferry ride to the island is half the fun. Along the way you get to enjoy the beautiful sites. It is the perfect place to kick back and relax or explore the island and all that it has to offer. You can rent a bike and go for your own around the shore tour scoping out secluded beaches and gorgeous

homes. There is also kayaking and just off the ferry you will find kayak rentals. A fun way to spend time in the kayak is to explore Fort Gorges. There are some great galleries where you can find intresting local art and paintings. Peaks Island is a fun place to visit and explore so take a trip out there today and see what there is to discover.
