Maine Things To Do The Super Duck: Portland's Amphibious Tour Boat
Posted by mainetodo on Wednesday, July 25 @ 17:46:57 PDT

Summer: Nothing screams tourist than tour buses and trollies but, what a fun way to spend some time learning about the city you live in aboard the Super Duck! This is not your typical tour bus because mid-way through the 90 minute tour the rolling bus suddenly becomes a floating boat! That's right, this 39 foot vehicle gives a tour of Portland on both land and sea. From the seats of the Super Duck we were able to enjoy the sites of Casco Bay. It is a fun adventure to take the

whole family on and is interesting for anyone including native Portlanders. The Super Duck is very stable so even those who tend to be prone to motion sickness like myself should be fine. The tour begins in the Old Port section of Portland and enters the water on the Eastern Promenades boat ramp. You cruise right past Fort Gorges which is hard to get to unless you have your own boat. It offers a great view of Portland Harbor and is a great way to entertain out of town guest. So jump aboard the boat or bus whichever it is it is definitely fun!
