Maine Things To Do Freeport: Not Just A Shopping Destination
Posted by mainetodo on Thursday, June 14 @ 17:55:52 PDT

Summer: Friends are coming from out of town and you are racking your brain trying to think of something to do...Freeport! With a plethora of shopping outlets you definitely could entertain them for hours but, you want to try something a little different. It's a beautiful day and you want to enjoy the outdoors then why not stop by Wolfe's Neck State Park. This park is located right on Casco Bay with a wide variety of various level walking and hiking trails. The natural beauty of the coastline and the wildlife is perfect. They have a picnicing facility if you decide to pack a lunch

and benches strategically placed to enjoy views of the bay and the osprey of course. Another great spot in Freeport is Winslow Park especially if you have children with you. The park is a privately owned park which offers camping, picnicing, and a beach area. Next to the beach there is a small boat launch so if you have kayaks make sure to bring them along. In the center of the park, there is a great playground area for the kids, a volley ball pit and wonderful views of Casco Bay from every angle that you look No matter which you decide to do, your friends will be thanking you in the end for showing them another side of Freeport.
