Summer: The annual Wild Blueberry Festival is a celebration of what else? The blueberry. It is no secret that the Down East region of Maine produces nearly 85% of the world's blueberries and the residents of the area are proud of that fact and it shows. There is certainly no lack of exciting events for the entire family. A Main Street parade, blueberry farm tours,magic shows, fabulous food, fireworks, crafts and fine art by regional artists, live music, and more. The festival is usually held during

the third week of August. Next time you are Downeast stop and see the Machias Bay area where America greets the sun.
