The Penobscot Marine Museum is rich with history. The Museum is well respected for its collection of fine 19th-century marine art. One could spend days pouring over boats, maps, charts and manuscripts, the exhibits are outstanding. Furthurmore, the facility also boasts a historic walk through a series of original buildings that have been converted into exhibit galleries. The Penobscot Marine Museum is also interactive. Two of the most popular programs are a family boatbuilding class and constructing a traditional birch bark canoe. There are also plenty of activities to

keep the kids occupied. At the Penobscot Marine Museum there's a lot to discover about Maine, it's coastal waterways and the maritime life.
