Maine Things To Do Sunday River (Artist's) Covered Bridge: Maine's Most Popular
Posted by mainetodo on Sunday, December 17 @ 13:40:46 PST

Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall: This destination is certainly affordable yet noteworthy. The Sunday River Covered Bridge, also known as The Artist's covered bridge is Maine's most photographed and painted covered bridge. The bridge was built in 1872 and it is no longer in operation. The 87 foot bridge is more of an icon than anything else, and it is a quiet place where visitors can reflect on

years gone past. The crystal clear stream that runs below the bridge is a nice place for a picnic or just to rest. The bridge itself is only 4 miles from North Bethel. So, if picinicing does not fit into the plans, there are many cafe's and quaint restaurants that will make for the perfect lunch spots. Don't forget to bring your camera or your paint brush.
