Maine Things To Do Old Port Shopping: Shop In Portland Maine's Historical District
Posted by mainetodo on Saturday, December 09 @ 21:57:16 PST

Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall: Visit Maine’s historical Old Port shopping district on Portland’s waterfront. With its cobble stone streets and brick Victorian buildings, the Old Port is a great way to take in some local Maine history. The Old Port also features a wide range of restaurants, specialty shops, and boutiques. Serendipity is one of the boutiques and is

located in one of the Portland Italianate structures that was built back in 1866. The building features high arched windows, beautiful tile work on the inside, plus the original glass seal of the city of Portland on the front window. There are several other shops that are filled with antiques, Maine made products, jewelry, crafts, art from local and national artists, art galleries, breweries and much more. While shopping, you get the chance to see the beautiful Portland harbor with the ferries, cruise ships, tug boats, fishing boats, and lobster boats. This is a great way to enjoy Portland’s history and support some local businesses.
