Maine Things To Do Portland Public Library: Where Books Come Alive
Posted by mainetodo on Saturday, December 09 @ 12:04:44 PST

Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall: The Portland Public Library was established in 1867 and is located in the middle of Portland’s down town district. A visit to the library is a great thing to do on rainy, or cold-weather days. The library has several different sections including a kids place that allows

the children to participate in a story hour. Other programs are offered including providing children help with their homework, games, arts and crafts, performers, artists, musicians, and animal show and tell throughout the year. The library has author discussion groups for childrens and adult books. There is also a book review program where you can see opinions and views of other local readers to help you make the right book choice for you and your child. The Portland Public Library also offers lectures and seminars for adults on upcoming books and authors, art and music. So the next time you are wondering what to do, consider a visit to the library and sharing a story or learning experience with your family.
