Fall: Are you looking to do a fun and adventuresome thing this Columbus Day weekend? How about a horseback riding excursion through the fall leaves? Medawisla Wilderness Camps in Greenville has just the adventure you are looking for in the north woods of Maine. They are located in the infamous 100-mile wilderness on Roach Pond and offer visitors a great way to explore the northern wilderness on horseback. Visitors can spend the long weekend at one of their lodging camps and enjoy family style meals at the main house. Their Fall Colors Horseback Riding package includes a three night stay along with a guided tour on horseback of all the local sites. If you have

only ridden a horse a few times, no worries, the package includes a lesson and all the gear you will need to enjoy a safe ride. The tour includes reaching the summits of two of the local mountains, Trout and Shaw where you will definitely want to take some pictures of the views of Katahdin. This is a great way to spend a long weekend with your family doing something you don’t usually do. They do have age restrictions; all riders must be at least 16 and must be comfortable grooming and tacking their own horse. Enjoy fall and all the colors that go along with it on horseback!
