Maine Things To Do Maine Fishing Vacation: Maine’s One of The Best!
Posted by mainetodo on Monday, July 07 @ 18:06:39 PDT

Whether your whole family is fanatic about fishing, or your family is just starting out, Maine is a great place for a fishing vacation. This is because Maine’s waters have so much for everyone! Maine’s Kennebec River offers pristine fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout, as well as landlocked salmon and smallmouth bass. Along the Kennebec River are multitudes of fishing camps where your whole family will enjoy fishing and limitless relaxation and recreational activities. Evergreens campground located in Solon offers everything for the whole family. The campground is located on the banks of the Kennebec River and is a great place for fishing, swimming, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and fun in the sun. Around this area is unlimited wildlife such as moose, black bears, loons and deer. To add more to your fishing adventure on the Kennebec River, you and your family may choose to hire one of the many guides in the area to show you the water and help you dial into the fishery. Your guide may also offer drift boat trips. A drift boat trip is a very unique way to spend your fishing vacation time. On a drift boat trip, your guide will row you

safely down the river and maneuver the western style drift boat into the “fishiest” water. Drift boat trips can be very productive because often times your guide will place the boat in water where fishing pressure is very limited, offering you a better chance for a hookup. On full day drift boat trips your guide will provide lunch and snacks for your enjoyment. The most heavily drifted portions of the Kennebec River are the East Outlet, Solon, Bingham, and Shawmut sections of the river. For guided trips in these areas, contact Kennebec River Outfitters located in Madison, and the Maine Guide Fly Shop located in Greenville. Kennebec River Outfitters offers guided trips in the Solon and Bingham areas of the Kennebec River, while the Maine Guide fly Shop offers guided trips in the Moosehead region of the Kennebec. If your family would rather spend their fishing vacations in a different region of Maine, consider Lakewood Camps located in the Rangeley region of Maine or Weatherbys Lodge in the Grand Lake Stream region of Maine. Both of these places offer great fishing and wildlife watching opportunities for the entire family.
