Posted by mainetodo on Sunday, June 29 @ 18:47:37 PDT

Summer: Nothing beats a day on the links and Maine has some great courses around the state to check out. One of the most breathtaking courses in the state is on the foothills of Sugarloaf Mountain. Rated on the #1 place to play in New England, Sugarloaf’s course is rugged and challenging. The number 2 hole is 510 yards from the white tee to the pin and that’s just one of many holes that are well over the 350 yard range. Another great golf course to check out is Point Sebago Golf Course in the southern half in the state is touted as one of the best 18 hole golf courses in the state and one trip around the course you will definitely see why. The grounds are perfectly manicured and the professionally designed and it makes for a challenging and fun round of golf. The beauty of this course is it is also located near one of the nicest summer spots, Sebago Lake. With so many things to do in the area even if you are not a golfer you will be able to find something whether it

be shopping, dining or just enjoying a day on the beach. If you find yourself in the mid-coast area than you should definitely check out the Samoset Golf Resort. This golf course runs along the banks of the Atlantic and has some great. Known as the best place to “tee by the sea” you will find the views from the 14th hole are worth the trip! Not only is this a wonderful golf course but, it is only a couple of miles from Camden where you will find the one of the prettiest harbors in the state and also where the mountains meet the sea. Playing golf in Maine is where it is at during the summer months, so take some time to check out all the courses in the state and get out and play!
