Maine Things To Do Wells: Find The Beach, Go Search For Antiques, Do It All!
Posted by mainetodo on Saturday, June 14 @ 13:19:45 PDT

Summer: People go to Wells for many reasons but, the beach is probably the biggest. With miles of sandy beach and rentals all along the shore, Wells makes for the perfect summer vacation spot. Although the popularity of Wells Beach is far reaching there are some other great beaches in the area and one of those is Crescent Beach which is only a half mile from Wells Beach. Crescent Beach is much smaller and less crowded than it’s counterparts. In addition, there are some great tidal pools where crabs and starfish can be caught. It’s a great place for families with small children because of it’s gentler surf. The beach is not the only reason people flock to Wells. Wells also has it’s fair share of antique shops running up the route one corridor. You can find pretty much anything from antique furniture, linens, dishes, books and most of these dealers

are willing to dicker on the price which makes the hunt for bargains that much more exciting. Wells obviously caters to tourist and has its fair share of seafood restaurants offering Maine’s specialty lobster. Be sure to swing into Mike’s Clam Shack, the food is fresh, simple and delicious! End your day with the best ice cream made fresh daily at Big Daddy’s, trust me they don’t call it that for nothing! Wells also has several highly rated golf course for residents and visitors to go out and hit the links. Wells is a great place to visit and stay for either the day or as an extended vacation, put it on your to do list this summer.
