Maine Things To Do York Beach Camping: Find The Perfect Spot This Summer
Posted by mainetodo on Saturday, May 31 @ 18:09:40 PDT

Summer: So you are planning a camping trip in the southern Maine area and are having a hard time finding one that meets your needs. If you don’t need to be right on the ocean you may want to check out some of the York Beach campgrounds. They are close enough to the beach without having to deal with the sand in your tent and with so many places to camp, here are some great places to check out. Dixon Campgound is a great wooded campground with large wooded lots and fire pits. This is a great place to camp with kids. The best site is #59 because it is the most private and close to the pool area. Another great southern Maine campground to check out is directly across the road from Long Beach, Camp Eaton. This is a very nice campground with some great sites, they do not offer tent sites but, if you have an RV this is a great place to

camp. The grounds of this 35 acre campground are neat and clean and offer grassy fields, woods a lily pond and views of Nubble Light. There is a store on-site and free hot showers to clean up in after a day on the beach. If you are looking for camping right on the ocean than Libby’s Oceanside Camping is the place for you. Libby’s offers both tent and RV sites and the beach is just steps away. This campsite fills up fast due to its beach front location so you will need to call in advance for reservations. Any of these campsites are a great place to stay and being in the York Beach area gives you options galore. York Harbor is a beautiful place to visit and Nubble Lighthouse is a great spot for some great photos of Maine.
